We’ve compiled a helpful overview for waterfront wine tastings at Marina Pointe. Read on for our recommendations that will have everyone enjoying their favorite vintages in style.

  1. The Theme
The key to any successful party is a unique and imaginative theme. Popular wine tasting party themes could include “a tour of Tuscany,” blind tastings or themes orbiting around different geographical offerings – Cru Cellars’ thoughtfully curated and seasonal menu features up to 350 small-production wines from all across the globe, including rich pinot noirs from the heart of France’s renowned Burgundy wine country, light Rieslings from Germany’s esteemed Mosel Valley and many more.

The bar also hosts its own delightful themed events and happy hours, which are open to the public and shared on the website.

  2. The Wine
An in-house sommelier will provide expert advice on each party’s wine selection based on theme and personal preference, which is ideal for the novice wine drinker and the professional wine enthusiast alike. If a public or private tasting is hosted at the bar, there will be more than 25 wines available by the glass and a larger selection of bottles to choose fromcheers! Cru Cellars’ new South Tampa location will also include an on-site shop for those who’d like to choose a bottle or two to take back to their condominium for private gatherings.

Duckweed Urban Grocery will have its own selection of wines, and their convenient “DuckDash” service – currently being tested at the original Channelside location – can deliver directly to residents’ homes.

  3. The Pairing
The Cru Cellars menu changes over time to match the latest wine menus – plates are typically light and served tapas-style to cleanse the palate between tastings, but the menu includes richer and larger portions of steak frites, glazed duck confit and seared octopus for party guests with larger appetites. For those seeking the classic wine tasting experience, the farmer’s platters showcase a selection of a la carte cheeses and meats served with house-made strawberry and basil jam, candied pecans and whole grain mustard.

Party planners who prefer to manage their own menus will find that Marina Pointe’s beautifully appointed gourmet kitchens are more than up to the task of storing and preparing everything from custom charcuterie boards to beef tartare. The private amenity level includes a full-scale catering kitchen as well, where professional chefs and caterers can be brought in for special occasions.
