Just two short years ago, Westshore Marina District was 52 vacant acres of weedy waterfront. Now, preliminary construction activity is happening at the site overlooking Tampa Bay. This early site preparation is one of the important early steps in seeing this inspiring waterfront address come to life.
For the first time in decades, if ever, people are now living on the 52 acres near the Gandy Bridge that make up the new Westshore Marina District. The district’s master developer, BTI Partners, has 40 units of its 340-unit Marina Pointe condominium project under contract at an average sale price of $1.3 million. Those condos will face Tampa Bay. BTI also recently obtained permits for a marina and a 25-year lease on submerged lands.
Tampa’s Westshore Marina District is finally taking shape. Located just off Westshore Boulevard south of Gandy Boulevard, the 52-acre mixed-use community will include 70,000 square feet of retail and office space located near some 2,400 new homes being built on or adjacent to the property. The project is led by BTI Partners, a Fort Lauderdale-based real estate investment and development firm. Westshore Marina District includes 52 acres along 1.5 miles of waterfront on Old Tampa Bay.
Once complete, the district will include three condominium towers called Marina Pointe, designed by architect Kobi Karp. Residences in the towers are selling for $700,000. The district will also feature an array of boutique retail shops, wine bars, fitness studios, gourmet markets, and high-end restaurants. BTI expects to break ground on Marina Pointe in early 2019.
Home — where our treasured belongings and memories live, where we’re free to roam about in our most comfortable clothing and most importantly, where we decompress after a long day. The place we choose to live is the single most impactful decision on our well-being which is why you should seriously consider the health benefits of living by the water.
Humans are naturally drawn to blue spaces — a natural biological connection that science has linked to improved cognitive, emotional and physical health. Just looking at the water releases a flood of neurochemicals that increase blood flow to the brain and heart, creating an instantaneous feeling of relaxation.
Urbanization and constant technological connectivity contribute to anxiety and moodiness — so it makes sense that a home by the water can combat the sometimes-stressful effect of daily life.
Imagine getting home from a busy day and being able to relax with a beautiful view of the sunset or see a dolphin on your evening run … or taking a night off of cooking and enjoying a meal at a waterfront restaurant just steps from your building door. Such experiences can turn a bad day into a lovely evening and help you find a healthy balance between obligations and personal time.
Any dwelling is made more beautiful with a backdrop of a waterfront setting peeking through the windows. While there are plenty of ways to improve your health and lifestyle, moving near the water can elevate both without any major change to your typical routine.
